August 16, 2022 at 11:22 amHello my brothers and sisters, I have learned so much recently about the origins of most of the holidays celebrated now in days. Now that I know that all of them are pegan and mostly demonic I don’t want to participate in them moving forward. I feel that Adonai will not want us to take part in pegan practices and celebrations or use those practices to celebrate him or instill those practices in our children. Knowing that Adonai does not change with the times and is the same from the beginning so still does not want us to take any part in pegan practices. I need prayer for my son who is autistic that he understands why we won’t be celebrating these holidays especially when it comes to Christmas which he loves and just prayer for overall healing of his mind body soul and spirt from this disability in general. Thank you in advance.

August 19, 2022 at 8:29 amOur family is very aware of the roots of holidays, like Christmas, but we are very clear on who we are celebrating on those holidays. For Christmas, everything on our tree has their roots in Christian Christmas books that we read once a night during December. Each of the decorations represent something that reminds us of Christ. For example, we read a book about a young girl who has Christmas with her grandmother. That year her grandmother is unable to reach her in time for Christmas, so she tells the girl to open her gift early. The gift contains galoshes, mittens, and a scarf. The next day Christmas, her mother asks her to buy a wreath in town. Along the way she helps a homeless man by giving away her mittens, rescues a kitten and gives away her scarf, gives the galoshes to a poor boy who need new shoes. On her way home, she see her grandmother get off the bus and runs to great her. Her grandmother notices the missing gifts and asks about it. The girl tells her about the people she has helped and her grandmother is proud of her. At the end of the book there is a Bible verse, which I forget because we only read it one a year. When I was a kid, about 10 years ago, we painted wooden mitten cutouts and hung them on the tree to remind us that we should always be willing to give more then receive gifts. We talk about how God was willing to give his only son as the best gift of Christmas. So I guess what I am saying is that you can still celebrate the holidays as long as you can find ways to always point to God. There is also a book we read that is an open door book. Each door is a part of the Christmas story and there are twenty-five doors. Celebrating Christmas is a personal preference, but I wanted to give a way you can still celebrate while staying close to God. Reading a book a night and the opened door book, really called The Advent Book, is just one of the ways we celebrate Christmas while being clear that Jesus is the reason for the season. Praying that what every you decide that your son with understand and that God will comfort him in both His and your love. May you have a wonderful rest of the year. Blessings.🙂

August 19, 2022 at 8:34 amLifting you up in prayer as you make this major shift in life. I do believe we need further education in what we allow our spirits to partake in. I pray God grants you peace, understanding, and wisdom as you travel this journey in life and also in parenting. Bless you and that beautiful child of yours. Praying for you, In Jesus Christ Mighty name, Amen.

August 19, 2022 at 4:23 pmThere are Chrismon decorations where every decoration signify Christ. I understand your cautiousness about holidays. But we need holidays to remember and symbolize what Jesus did for us. We are not supposed to compromise God’s truth. But I honestly don’t see anything wrong with celebrating Christmas and Easter if we glorify Him and not the Easter Bunny and Santa. Praying for you during this process.

August 20, 2022 at 10:52 amThank you all for your prayers and kind words of advice. I’m going to look into the feast and holidays in the Bible that we were meant to celebrate always and celebrate those instead. May Adonai bless and keep each and everyone of you.
