Please pray for strength to stop drinking

    Brothers and sisters. Please pray for strength for me to stop drinking. I started realizing it about 55 that my drinking had increased and it was starting to affect me. I didn’t listen to God for a few years and then finally quit. However I have started just having a glass or two of wine every night and have found it even though I promise to stop it That I do it again. I would not say I am a deep alcoholic. The labels don’t matter. All I know is that for The love for my wife and God I want to stop. Could you please pray for me? My strength has not been enough to do it and it’s easy to turn my back on God and that one moment of giving in. Thank you so much

    Father I lift up this brother In Jesus name and ask that you would by your power take the taste from his lips and any desire to drink. You are a taste giver and a taste taker. Flood him with your divine power and cause him to search for you with that same desire. We decree it done in your name. A-men

    Standing in agreement with our brother, Frank’s, cry out to You for help in overcoming alcohol addiction. We know that You are able. Help him turn himself over to You, each and every day, one day at a time, even hourly. We pray that Frank stops trying by his own power. We ask that Your Holy Spirit works in and through Frank today, tomorrow, and the next days. Have Your way in his life, Lord. ~gail

    Heavenly Father, I join the prayers for Frank to be healed of the disease of alcoholism. I pray that Jesus Christ will enable him to stop drinking one day at a time. Help Frank to understand that he can never drink enough to satiate the addictive mind. I come against the lies of Satan that promise him he can stop after one or two drinks. I pray for the truth of your love to guide him out of the deception the enemy seeks for him to believe. Father, be his constant companion during every day as Frank seeks to stay sober.

    Dear Brother, I know what you are going through as I have been a life-long Christian but have fallen into the temptation of abusing my pain meds that I take for chronic back pain. I know how you feel. You want with all your heart to please God and your wife and yourself by overcoming the temptation to drink. But then your physical nature and desires take over, causing you to do the very thing that your heart and spirit don’t want to do. And it’s a seemingly never ending cycle that you don’t seem to have the willpower to overcome.So I pray in the Name of Jesus that the Holy Spirit will empower both you and I to stop doing those things.that are not becoming of a Christian. I shall keep you in my prayers brother, and will claim victory over these temptations because with God, ALL things are possible. In Jesus’ Mighty Name I pray, AMEN!!!
