January 8, 2021 at 8:29 amJesus didn’t say that offenses might come to us. He didn’t say that if you’re kind, if you pray and quote the Scriptures, you’ll be exempt from grumpy people and people who cut you off in traffic. He said offenses will certainly come. You will have opportunities on a regular basis to get upset, to argue, to become offended and bitter, and to try to pay people back. That word “offense” comes from a Greek word that means “to bait,” referring to the bait that’s used to lure animals into a trap. When you’re tempted to be offended, when someone is critical, rude, condescending, or says something derogatory to you, recognize that the enemy is trying to deceive you into his trap. He’s saying, “Come on, get upset. Argue with them and tell them off.” Instead of letting it upset you, say, “No, thanks. I’m not taking the bait. This is just a distraction. I’m going to enjoy this day and keep my peace.”

January 8, 2021 at 10:39 pmI have learned that many times I am defensive or dismissive of comments that’s do not align with my current understanding and perspective. When I catch myself doing this, I ponder the feedback in prayer. Inevitably, I must conclude with a “Thank you for caring enough about me to tell me the truth.” Sometimes, I need to reprocess assumptions, sometimes I need more information, sometimes I need to step up to the plate & take action (sometimes join or lead a team). I “take the bait”, pray on it, become more or newly aware of circumstances. The best is not dismissing the feedback outright without some deep prayer & contemplation. It is a skill that I am still honing and this discipline has brought me both peace & opportunity.

January 9, 2021 at 6:05 amAbba Father! How You love us! You sent Jesus as our example: 1 Peter 2:22-2422
He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.Praise Your Name!

January 9, 2021 at 10:54 pmThank You Father God, for the honing process that the Holy Spirit is actively doing in each of our lives. He is “The Spirit Of Truth”. And bless God, that it’s one of His jobs to perfect us day, by day. A little here, and a little there. Always moving us towards looking like Jesus Himself. In order for us to look like, and act like Jesus, there is much pruning that needs to take place. Our responses to those God places around us is, one big way the One we have to do with, proves us. As we learn to respond in love in every situation. (And not take the bait). And are patient to hear others out, and take their sometimes verbal abuse, and we just simply respond in love. And we take it patiently, we are pleasing our Father, this is acceptable to Him.
We may encounter only one person a day, or several, who will put our love walk to the test. Some with outright anger, and an accusatory attitude. How ever, when we calmly, and with purpose respond with gentleness, and kindness. We are reflecting the nature, and charterer of our our Maker Who is love it’s self. Let us all endeavor to do unto others, as we would have them do unto us. Therefore fulfilling the royal law. To love one another, even as we are loved by Him. By this, shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Thank You Lord, that You are faithful to complete the work that You have begun in us. Help us to lean into You in times of testing form those around us. And to not take the bait that our adversary dangles in front of us, to get out of our love walk.In Jesus name. Amen! 💓
