Requesting prayer for a family member, Tom, who suffered a stroke this week. He is in ICU and cause and amount of damage is not known. He is a father and grandpa and no family is allowed in to see him or to hold his hand. They are feeling alone and frightened for him. There are bright spots in this situation as they are Christians and he knows his Savior, as does his family. There is swelling of the brain and they have him sedated for the most part to allow the brain to heal. He is moving his arms and can give thumbs up or down when asked a question. Progress is slow and feels like nothing is changing. Please pray for a full recovery and that Tom will feel God’s peace during this time. Also pray for his family – wife, two children and five grandchildren – as they wait and pray and are miles apart at this time so they cannot comfort each other either. His wife, Kate, is dealing with her own health issues while trusting God for her husband’s life. I am so thankful that I can bring this to my DAB family knowing you will pray and lift Tom and Kate and family up in prayer. I am so thankful that we do not have to carry our burdens alone, but I have a family that will help bring them to Jesus, who is the answer to our prayers and Jesus is the healer of our bodies and also encourages our spirit.
