Meghan, you said you are engaged to a man you love, living together, not yet married because you want Marriage Counseling first, and he doesn’t understand why, and this is holding you from getting married. You asked for courage to be honest to him. As I listened to you Meghan, what I heard was fear of the unknown. I pray for you for strength and courage, but most importantly against the spirit of fear. I want to say to you, just trust God ! God has not given you the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. In your case the sound mind would be to prioritize. marriage counseling is excellent but it should not keep you from dedicating your marriage to God and getting out of an ungodly situation first. If your man is ready for marriage and you two are in love, get married to avoid sin. Remember the goal of counseling is not to hurt the relationship but to strengthen it as it grows.I believe your man will be even more open to counseling once he is reassured of your full committment.
