Heavenly Father, I stand in agreement with the prayers above. I confess that after reading this request, I had to pause first to ask you for the words I should say. This is such a stunning circumstance and this brother’s reaction is so understandable. My prayer this night is that this brother and his family can rest and find peace in your love and their common loyalty as a family. Let them bind together ever closer and be a comfort to each other. I pray that as you draw near to this son and strengthen his faith, you would also heal him of the trauma and after shocks of this horrible assault. I pray that if it be your will, that you would guide this brother to the spiritual, legal, law enforcement and psychological resources he needs to heal, as well as to be of maximum service to his community by being a competent and useful witness. I pray that you would guide him to just the right persons to counsel him about his injuries, provide appropriate legal representation, as well as resources with expertise in documentation of his overt and hidden injuries and the trauma suffered by him and his family as the result of this crime. I pray that you would heal this son and his family and replace the feelings of fear with your peace. As the healing progresses, we pray that this son would be able to reach a place of forgiveness for those who assaulted him. We pray that no root of bitterness will grow in his heart. I come against the evil one who so desires to have fear disable our functioning and derail our faith. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and in full confidence that your power overcomes all fear, I ask that you would release your holy angels to defeat the Satanic forces that seek to upend this family’s peace and safety. Let these prayers and your holy presence be a hedge of protection around this family. Guide them with your wisdom about whether they should relocate, and take their hands in yours as they walk out of this valley experience day by day. You, Father, are the perfect father who covers us with your wings, and stands against any who would harm so much as a hair on our heads. We thank and praise you that we are not left to our own resources, but that you are ever present ready to provide assurance and guidance.

Amen and Amen. Carla, we continue to lift your family to the Holy Father for protection. Yes, yes do not allow bitterness to enter because Your Father will avenge. May your brother sense the Father’s LOVE today as he takes the necessary steps but above all, I pray he focuses on His Father, the LOVE of Jesus and the Comfort of the Holy Spirit. As it happens, I listened to Laura Story sing her song “Blessings” last night and think of you, she was introduced by Joni Eareckson Tada. The exhortation from Mrs. Tada was for us to “be” there. Although we cannot physically “be” there for you dear one, we are here interceding on your behalf. In Jesus Name!
