Hello church! I’m Paul, a born again, church going christian and avid DAB listener. I rededicated my life to Christ over twelve years ago after spending most of my early adulthood running from God.
For the last several years, I have been abusing alcohol daily. I am an adult child of an Alcoholic parent so I know full-well what Alcoholism is and does to a person and family. I pray every day that the LORD will give me the power to overcome only to come up short. It is to the point now that I cannot sleep without numbing myself with 4 or 5 beers. I’m fine during the day but with the evenings comes the overwhelming desire to drink. I’m convinced that I’m now a full-blown Alcoholic. I am living a lie.
I know that He has said that with every temptation he will provide a way of escape; that he will put nothing upon us that we cannot endure; and all things work together for the good of those that love Him! I can’t find the way of escape and cannot endure this any longer! I’m loosing hope and it’s hurting my relationship with Him. 🙁
I ask for your prayers of intercession on my behalf. I cannot continue to live the lie that I’ve created; serving God as best I can most of the day only to give in to sin over and over again. I am to the point of desperation because of the cycle and the guilt I feel. I so desperately want freedom from this addiction and know I cannot do it alone.

May 30, 2019 at 8:39 pmDear Heavenly Father, I’m lifting up Paul at this time, to You , To give him the strength and the courage to not take that first drink not I pray that you guide him into perhaps a 12 step program or celebrate recovery whatever you feel would work best for Paul and please lead him to where he needs to go to get help ,keep him strong in your precious name Jesus , Paul ,I will be praying for your sobriety daily !!!

here me well … You are loved of God!! My brother .. you are under demonic attack.. I want you to pay attention to this statement as that says it all..

You need to understand … the alcoholism ..issue that you are facing has been inherited… or for you to understand,…. it has been passed down to you from your parents .. this may be too deep for you to understand but I pray that the Holy spirit will help me .. break it down for you..
That STRONG urge to drink that comes on you at night is NOT you… but evil. You understand that ?
Next I want you to repent regarding this statement that you made:“I’m convinced that I’m now a full-blown Alcoholic. I am living a lie.”
when you make such statements … you are in AGREEMENT with satan and as such … you have told him and his evil cohorts that o Yes I am an alcoholic.. so they now have a LEGAL ground in your life!! So how can you get prayers answered when you are in agreement with the enemy????
Pray this right NOW..
O Lord please forgive me for every word that i have uttered CARELESSLY without knowing.. Please forgive me for every negative things i have spoken about myself.. Lord I am what you say I am … therefore I am your Child! I am a Prince ! I am a co heir with Christ..I am NOT an Alcoholic!! I choose to say NO to ALCOHOL!! I say NO to the lies of satan!
O God remove all evil deposits from my body that attract the spirit of Alcoholism!
Father , Set me free from the bondage of Alcoholism
Help me Lord, not to be a mere hearer of your word but a DOER of your word!!
Lord I SLAM SHUT every door that I have OPENED and that now has given the enemy LEGAL entry into my life!
My Father, I am your child.. please have mercy on me. Cleanse me from all impurities!! Remove this evil desire from me!!
I decree and declare that my BODY is the TEMPLE of God !! Therefore I COMMAND my body to REJECT every agenda of the enemy as pertains to any addiction!! In the name of Jesus!!Thank you Father for you are setting me free!!! Today for the FIRST time I will NOT DRINK ALCOHOL before i go to bed!! HELP ME LORD!! This is a DESPERATE prayer of FAITH with ACTION!!
Instead of Alcohol tonight .. I will SOAK my room with WORSHIP music / Psalms that will DRIVE OUT EVERY DEMON in the name of Jesus!!! I will take communion ( blood of Jesus / Body) and as such I will have no craving for alcohol.
O Mighty Man of War Lord Jesus!! Please FIGHT for me!! I will not give up!! I now know the TRUTH!!! I am not an ALCOHOLIC!! I am a CHILD of God pursuing a LIFE of RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!

pray like this.. I declare this juice as the BLOOD of JESUS
I declare this crackers as the broken body of our Lord Jesus Christ! As I partake of this communion every night!! No evil spirit will come to tempt me to drink !! I will not be drank with alcohol.. instead each night i will be DRUNK by the HOLY SPIRIT!!!In Jesus name I pray

May 31, 2019 at 9:10 pmHeavenly Father I pray you would hear the cries of Paul’s heart and his desire for sobriety. I join the circle of intercession for Paul, who is suffering from the disease of alcoholism but who is blaming himself as if this were a matter of will. Father, I pray that you would open Paul’s eyes about the nature of this disease and surrender to you for your help in dealing with his disease. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by whose stripes we are healed, that you would bind Satan and his legions of dark spirits from any further torment of Paul. I pray that the plans of the enemy against Paul and his family are exposed to the light of day so that the eroding effects of secrecy are blunted. I pray that the Holy Spirit will take up battle against the forces of darkness on account of the power of the mighty name of Jesus. I pray for Paul’s physical health so that he can safely discontinue the use of alcohol. I plead that Paul’s life be spared from the ravages of this disease that is such an instrument of evil. I plead that because of the stripes of the Messiah, that you would place resources in Paul’s path so that his steps toward sobriety will continue. I thank you for the faith of this son who continues to seek you even as he is in the clutches of this disease. I pray that you would increase Paul’s faith and hope in you once he recognizes that he cannot defeat this disease without total surrender to you as the source of his strength to achieve recovery and sobriety.

Amen 🙏🏽June 2, 2019 at 1:43 pmHeavenly Father, I come to you on behalf of Paul because you have placed him on my heart. I pray that Paul is experiencing new life and strength in you because of his sobriety. Help Paul to accept his complete dependence on you for his sobriety. Lead him to fellowship with persons experiencing his struggles so that they can draw on each other for strength. Teach him a spirit of humility, patience and self love. I pray that you would bless Paul with sobriety that is inextricably linked to your lordship in his life.

We ask for Your Mercy over Paul’s life, my You Spirit intercede and continue to work within him as You call us to be holy because You are holy. We recognise that this is only possible through Your strength and mercy. Lord we know that Your will for us is to be prosperous, to have a future and a hope and not to harm us. Therefore with Your Almighty power we pray against these evil spirits of alcoholism and for sin, we pray for a covering of the blood of Jesus Christ over Paul and a renewing of his Spirit that he may be strengthen and not dismayed. We approach You Lord with confidence as your children, may Your will be done. We thank You and Glorify Your name, Amen.

And I say Hallelujah!! because you know where this started (your parent), you are clearly saying what you have been doing (abusing alcohol daily), you are broken by it all (being at the point of desperation). Yes!
And you have come to the Lord, and his people. I’m not saying it will be easy. It won’t. But you have come to a turning point and this is where your future holds hope.
Lord, we the DAB worldwide family join our prayers for Paul. Help him get the best help possible to overcome this. Help him find a good Christian counselor, a Celebrate Recovery 12 step group, a sponsor. Help him change his evening routine to move him away from the drinking. Help him remove all alcohol from his home, yard, garage, car. We know You are with him and ask that You help him feel Your presence today and tonight. I also pray that another Christian brother will come over and spend the evening with him, maybe watch the Warriors basketball game, and be a friend. I pray that Paul deliberately does some vigorous exercise so that when evening comes, his body will be tired and ready for sleep.For myself, Paul, I too and am ACA (adult child of alcoholic parents). It was in a secular group where I first said the words, “My parents were alcoholics”. I felt like I had betrayed them because we were taught to never talk about family stuff with anyone. Those 4 words were the beginning of God setting me free and healing those past wounds. It was in a Celebrate Recovery group where I learned how to live life today, honoring God and learning to love myself. It was by going into counseling with a Christian counselor where I finally got to speak my truth, where I found loving acceptance, where I was healed from all those past hurts. I can talk about them now without crying and without them impacting my daily life. I pray all this freedom for you, brother. It is possible. Lord, grant all this and more to Paul.
June 8, 2019 at 5:00 pmPrecious Lord, I thank you for Paul’s life. I pray that your hand is on him as he walks the long and difficult journey back to sobriety. I pray the enemy would be silenced from whispering lies to Paul or to his family or friends that would bring condemnation to his remembrance. Keep Satan from lies to Paul about anything less than total sobriety. Help Paul to make the difficult decision to admit and embrace his disease of alcoholism. Surround Paul with a strong community of faithful servants who understand his disease , his fallibilities and his need for accountability within a climate of love and acceptance. Praise you, Father, that you prompted this son of yours to be transparent to the DAB community and to allow us the privilege of standing before your throne on behalf of our brother.
