March 22, 2022 at 5:50 amHello DAB Family. I’m fairly new to this community and not always consistent with listening in, but I really do love it. I’ve grown up in a Christian household and had periods where my zeal for Christ felt so intense and authentic. But for a few years now I can’t seem to find that real energy and love for God that I think and know I should have, even though I’m involved in some Christian activities. I don’t set time aside to pray consistently, I don’t give God more than 5 minutes of quiet time, I can’t see how He could possibly be happy with me at all. Whenever things are wrong that’s when I know how to beg and cry, and when things are good I throw in a quick thanks. But I know I haven’t truly given Him all of me and I feel stuck as to how. I don’t have a church and have gotten so comfortable with not going. I honestly just feel quite fake, like an imposter Christian. I feel like I’ve been stuck for so long with no real way out. I feel like all my desires and priorities are misaligned with being a Christian … and I don’t know how to un-want them if that makes sense? And I know my problems are so small and insignificant in the bigger picture of the world, that it makes me try to change even less. I don’t know what prayers I’m asking for, I just thought to finally say something outside of my own head.

March 22, 2022 at 8:30 amThank you for sharing what’s in your heart. I’m sure you are not alone with your struggle with not making God a priority.
I had the same problem and this is what I did to overcome that problem: I establish a routine with studying the word of God and praying for others.
I listen to the daily audio Bible with my morning coffee at sunrise. Routine helped.
I’ve also created a prayer group in messages and we pray for other people. Once a day I find a verse and post it to the group, and twice a week I find a sermon and post it. Everyone requests prayers and we all pray for each other and share our struggles. It’s a safe place with no judgment.
I also do a ladies Bible study once a month. I found taking responsibility for other people has made me study more. I’m not a teacher and I’m an introvert and was scared to start the group. I chose a topic: prayer and got a NLT Study Bible that explains every verse. I don’t really teach as much as facilitate a conversation and look up Bible verses. It has been so successful I now have 11 people in the group. Started out with 3 people a few months ago.
You have to set in in your heart to have a relationship with our Lord. Once I did this, peace and contentment has fill my heart and eased my mind from the difficulties of the world. You will find a way that works best for you. Just set it in your heart to do so.

March 22, 2022 at 9:53 amFather in heaven, Thank you that this Dabber is examining their heart. Help them know if there is any thing that is contributing to this stuck feeling. Help them be able to give it a name, like anger or worry, so they can study your word and apply your word when attacks come. Let them not be blindsided by life, but able to deal with their own issues one at a time with your help to move to a closer relationship with you. If they are putting effort into their Christian walk, they are not an imposter or a hypocrite. There will always be battles. Help them keep trusting you to grow them in grace and love. In Jesus name

March 23, 2022 at 5:11 amAbba Father! How You love naadei.nikoi! Thank You for this dear dabbers vulnerability and bringing her to the prayer wall. How accurately she describes our human condition!! Grant to this dear dabber, Holy Spirit, a rhema Word to know in her spirit how much You love her. Let her know that the path she is on is one ordained by You and that You are the light on her path. May she continually meditate upon Your goodness, O Lord, and see You in the little things each day. May she rely upon You for all things and never take You for granted. May she find the Pure Joy of staying in Your Presence each day and find the rhythm of this love relationship. May she let go of “doing” and be more about “being.” Because that is who she is: Your child. In Jesus’ Name!
Praise Your Name!
