I love my husband and he has many good qualities, but today he’s not very shiny. We are out of town so we were having dinner. He kept saying something indecisively and he knows I find it annoying. I tried to help
him make a decision but he just kept repeating himself over and over and it got on my nerves. Sort of in an annoyed playful way, I put my fingers in my ears and said “I don’t
want to hear it. Just make a decision.” He didn’t like this and hasn’t spoken to me since. He even took off and walked around the place we were at completely ignoring me while I walked 10 ft behind him. I should have just left and sat in the car but I couldn’t figure out what to do. But I find that action humiliating and disrespectful. Anyway he’s still ignoring me.
The core is that my husband loves to brag about what a “good communicator” he is, but he has no ability to comprehend that being tactless and brash is not a sign of good communication. So basically because he’s not afraid to get in someone’s face and tel them like it is, he’s perfected the art of communication. And I feel like I’m living with a toddler sometimes when it comes to him feeling disrespected. I don’t intentionally disrespect him but I have a few times and almost every time he resorts to the “if she’s gonna disrespect me, I’m gonna disrespect her mentality. I worked very hard to improve myself after coming from an abusive first marriage. My husband is not abusive per day, but just a jerk sometimes as I’m sure many husbands can be.
Anyway, I don’t know what to do. It doesn’t matter if I say anything about his style
being unhealthy. He won’t listen unless he figures it out himself. I just feel trapped. I need God to work here.May 18, 2019 at 5:08 amAbba, Father! How HOLY You are! Thank You for Your kingdom – may we seek it first and allow all other things to be added by You. We strongly desire to walk in Your Will today as it is done in heaven. Thank You for the host of Heaven that encourage us to move closer to Your Spirit! Give us today Your rhema Word to sustain us and give us wisdom. Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Lead us away from temptation and deliver us from the evil one.
Father, our sister jordiiwamizu needs Your wisdom in relationship with her husband. Many times we are led to believe that others have it all together in this area but this is not true. Our closest relationships are often the hardest to navigate because of several things, the least of all that our enemy constantly works at destroying marriages. Rather than looking at what demon may be around the corner, dear Lord, we look to You. We humble ourselves in Your Presence by seeing the sin in our own life and asking You Lord to help us grow more in Your image. It is so easy for me to see when my own dear husband is acting like a jerk. Forgive me Father, for neglecting to look into the perfect law and seeing how my own behavior is reflected. Thank You Lord, that after 43 years of marriage, You still work miracles. Every day. Each time I have humbled myself in Your Presence and asked You to forgive me, my husband’s behavior miraculously changed! Yes Lord, often not immediately, even after all this time, we are still in process. Thank You Lord for the journey. To walk with You has been a privilege and I weep as I recall all that You have done. Help us to focus on You first of all, You are the example of love. You love us all, despite what we have done. Holy Spirit please guide us as we strive to follow this example. May 18, 2019 at 8:54 pmLord, I pray you give jordiiwamizu a spirit of wisdom for how to deal with her husband. You promised if we acknowledge you in all our ways, you will direct our path. Help to to acknowledge you and look to you and exhibit the fruit of the spirit (patience and self control) when her husband is acting in a way that she does not like, or comprehend at the time. Thank you for coming to her aide, and we will glorify you for the results. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

I pray that you would soften both of their hearts so that this incident could serve a greater purpose of healing the cracks that have developed in their communication and relationship. I pray in the name of Jesus that the forces of evil that would like this marriage to be destroyed be cast out and totally defeated because of the love you have for this couple. Your essence is love, Precious Father. From your essence and nature of love, teach and guide them gently in how to love each other. I pray that your Holy Spirit would fall on this marriage and household so that this couple could receive your love. Calm the atmosphere of this home, so that your work in this marriage can begin with steps they take together to reach out to you.
May 21, 2019 at 5:24 pmThank you Lord that through others prayer requests you teach us to examine ourselves. Help us to seek you so you can REFINE as as pure gold . Lord refine me in your furnace so I may come out pure and purged from everything that would defile me. I pray that you work out in this couple to learn from this incidence and help them be better today than they were yesterday. Indeed this life is a journey and each day is a learning experience. Help us Lord to seek you, cleanse us so that those around us like our spouses will see the change in us for your glory.
