Son detoxing from alcohol abuse

My son is a high functioning alcoholic from more than a decade of alcohol use. He has been very resistant to quitting. God has answered my prayers and my son checked in to an inpatient rehab facility. Before checking in my son told me he was scared. He told me that he tried to detox on his own and was unable due to the side effects. He was experiencing seizures. I just read the alcohol withdrawal symptoms and I am terrified for my son based on the length of time he has been drinking. 5 to 25% can result in morality. Please pray for my son’s detoxing and then functioning with his family afterwards. Thank you.

Allow a celebration of sobriety to lift up this family and spark the joy of wholeness in our brokenness. Allow a peaceful grace to descend upon this family and equip them to stand in truth and love as their lives unfold. Strengthen them in this trial and equip them for Your Purpose. We trust in You, Lord Jesus, as we walk in faith, Love, and truth. For it is not our strength but Yours that allows us to be whole again. Heal us, Lord Jesus! Amen
