October 21, 2020 at 2:14 amGood morning, DAB family. I just have a simple prayer request today. I have been teaching for 10 years, and recently I got a teaching job closer to home for my family. I had prayed about it, and I truly believe the Lord opened this door for a reason. However, this new job has been a real struggle for me. I always pray that the Lord would use me as a light for the kids, and I’ve been truly trying my best to trust in the Lord’s plan. One major character defect in me that I’ve had to pray through recently is putting my identity/self worth in my job rather than the Lord. In the past, I had measured my worth in my ability to build relationships with the students and staff. This year, however, I feel like I am failing the students continually and feel like an outsider among the staff. I go into work each morning on fire for the Lord, trying my best to dwell on Him and carry out His will throughout the day. By the end of the school day, though, I feel so defeated. I try my best to respect the students and staff and be a light to them, I pray for them, and I’m trying to convey to them by my thoughts and actions how much I love them and how much more God loves them, but again, it seems that I’m constantly messing up. I know I must continue to put my trust in the Lord and keep fighting the good fight. I’m just tired, brothers and sisters, and I wish to put my identity and self worth in the Lord rather of my performance inside and outside the classroom. Please help me pray that I would continue to trust in the Lord. Please help me to pray that no matter what the circumstances may seem to be in front of me, that I would stick to carrying out His will. Please help me pray to be willing to grow spiritually each day. Please help me pray that no matter how things turn out at school each day, when I walk through the door of my home, I am truly present and grateful to be with my little family. I am truly grateful for my job, my family, and this DAB community. Thank you all in advance for your prayers. I love this wonderful community in Christ! Rob

October 21, 2020 at 5:05 amFather, I lift up Rob this morning, as an educator, I totally understand where he is coming from. I pray for encouragement for Rob during these times when it feels like the tank is empty. Your love and wisdom and peace is enough to fill that tank at the beginning and the end of each day. I read Luke 17 this morning and in verse 10 it said, So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, “We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.” At first that seemed like a harsh message, but meditating on it helps to realize that it brings the glory of each day back to you! My prayer for Rob and all of us is that we dedicate each day to you and through the good, the bad and the ugly, we serve you diligently and seek your guidance in the process. Each day will bring a distinct set of circumstances, however, you will give us the wisdom to walk through them one step at a time. We praise you for this !

October 21, 2020 at 12:01 pmYes, Lord – standing in agreement with these prayers for Rob. We are also an education family and know the challenges all too well. Lord, help Rob truly grab hold of the idea that he works for You and he is Your ambassador everywhere he goes and all that he says and does. Bless his efforts to show Your love to the staff and students in a myriad of ways. Multiple his efforts. Blessings
dear Brother – One thing the Lord instructed me to do when I worked at our local school district office was to thank the retirees for their service to our students. Most of them had never received that small courtesy and one man was especially dumbfounded. To me, it was a small thing. To him, it was significant. All glory to You, O Lord! ~gail

October 21, 2020 at 3:36 pmDear Father, Please show Rob your mercy and grace as he tries to reflect your light to his students and colleagues. I pray that he knows that You are in charge and you open the doors for him and he just needs to be ready to respond. I pray you keep his focus on You and your plan for him. Let his family be a safe warm environment for him to land each day after work. In Jesus’ name, Amen

October 21, 2020 at 3:55 pmI pray, Jesus, that you will fill Rob with your power, knowlegde and understanding. Help him build strong relationships. Do not let our enemy suppress him. I pray that you break him free, and show him that you shine throught him. Give all the people around him, students and colleges, interest in Rob and let him find them open. Let him taste victory, and know that you are with him. When he goes home from work, give him to know that he is a valuable teacher and staff member. And finally, give Rob endurance to believe in you during every hardship he encounters. I pray that he will know that you are with him. Amen.

October 21, 2020 at 7:26 pmDear Lord we pray for this wonderful believer in the Lord that teaches children by their actions and deeds. What you are teaching though this example man does not understand. The Holy Spirit radiates the silence voice to all. Be gentle with yourself. God has you in a special place. In the loving name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray

October 21, 2020 at 8:20 pmFather,
Thank You that our identity is in You first. We love you Lord! We thank You that You teach us how to stay rooted and grounded in You. Thank you for Rob’s vulnerability in sharing this. I’ve struggled with this “identity crisis” in other areas of my life as well. Thank You that You show us a better way.
