November 18, 2022 at 12:05 pmI love the passage of Scripture that talks about when the disciples and JESUS encountered a ferocious storm while on the sea. In (MARK 4:35-41) JESUS tells his followers we are going on a sea voyage, let’s all get in the boat and pass over to the other side (verse 35). While crossing this large spance of water, a storm rises up which threatens to sink their boat. The disciples feared greatly, and run wake the Master who’s asleep on a pillow at the rear of the boat verse (38). Upon hearing His disciples cry for help, JESUS gets up and commands the wind and the sea to be still. Upon this, He turns to His companions and rebukes them a little for being fearful. He asks them “Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith.” I used to think that JESUS was upset with His disciples because they could have used their own faith to quell the storm. Which would have meant that JESUS could have remained asleep. This could be partly the reason for the LORD’S strong rebuke! too. There is another way to view this. And I love this teaching. That JESUS said “Let us pass over to the other side.” Upon that single declaration, JESUS was putting in motion the final outcome of this ocean journey. He’s God in the flesh and knows the end from the beginning. JESUS already knew how this was all going to turn out. “Bless the LORD.” Because JESUS said this statement, and because He was going to be in the boat, there was only one out come that was going to take place. . — He and His disciples were [going to] make it to the other side come hell or high water. So it didn’t matter what the devil through at Him, He was going to the other side. He was getting across the ocean that He Created. Anyway, — So after the LORD calmed the sea. When JESUS ask His disciples why they feared so. And how is it that they had no faith. Our LORD was pointing out to them a extremely good reason why reason they shouldn’t have feared. It was because He was going to be in the boat with them. I love how the LORD used this situation to grow the disciples faith. The LORD was giving them a lesson that they could look back on the next time they encountered the winds and waves of life’s many storms. — Thankfully, this account was also given to encourage us in the same manner when we are passing through life’s many circumstances and challenges. LORD help us to remember that when the storms of life are raging, that we have not one thing to fear, because JESUS, — You are in our boat with us. And because You are, we will make it through. We love You Father, and thank You for Your WORD that instructs us, comforts us, and causes our faith to grow the more that we heed to what it says, and do what it says. We pray in JESUS holy name. Amen! π

November 19, 2022 at 12:25 amMy beloved David, Famously known as goingupsoonπ The crises of life have often been compared to stormy seas. They come upon us whether we like it or not. They terrify us. π₯Ά They knock us around and threaten to destroy all our stability and security. We donβt know whether we can survive them. And we donβt know how long they will last. At least, thatβs how a storm at sea would be for most of us. For Jesus, it was just a chance to grab 40 winks.π«ππ Thanks for sharing! I love My sweet JESUS!

November 19, 2022 at 1:25 amAmen! Angel. Good point. I think JESUS was implying to His disciples when He got on them for their lack of faith could be viewed something like this. Look boys, Iβm going to chill, and catch some Zzzzβs. Sense I already told you we were going to the other side, you may as well put your faith in what I said, and take a nap yourselves. That said, This should be our attitude when we are confronted by the storms that are sure to come in our lives. I think the LORD would have us lay down near Him and rest secure in what Heβs said. I love talking the WORD dear sister spiritdoc1. Itβs true what the WORD says, that iron sharpens iron. πβ€οΈ

November 21, 2022 at 11:28 amThanks for sharing!!! Peace; to the sea, Be still! βThe Lord on high is mightier than the waves of the sea.β A moment ago he was so weary as to sleep amid the storm, but at a word of appeal from those He loves, He shows Himself able to save to the uttermost. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

November 21, 2022 at 7:28 pmI love this scripture, it always reminds me of a hymn we used to sing, growing up in a little country church called “Master, The Tempest Is Raging” One portion says:
Carest thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep
When each moment so madly is threatning
A grave, in the angry deep?
Saviour, help us to rest in You knowing that everything, to the smallest detail, is taken care of by the One who loves us and gave His life for us. Amen.goingupsoonPrayers: 20097Requests: 1132
