July 20, 2023 at 10:19 amHi dabbers – thank you for your recent prayers. I have a question. I’m familiar with the scriptures & welcome them but I’m seeking practical help – how to put the scripture into practical action & win! Okay – if I sin – I confess my sin to God & I say I want to turn a way from it – God is faithful to forgive – the sin has been deleted – wiped away. Thank You Jesus. I then need to renew my mind. I go to the Word & meditate on it. However, I still struggle with un-wanted thoughts. One pops in my head – it could be from my memory – my heart – or the enemy. With the thought is an emotion & normally a feeling of guilt – the thought doesn’t belong to me – I am the righteousness of God & God has faithfully forgiven my past – up to this precise moment. If I ask the Lord to forgive me for the wrong thought as soon as it arises – am I not accepting as my thought & therefore my sin – I am tempted to confess I as sin because I feel guilt but my feelings do not always tell me the truth. Therefore, do I simply say, I renounce this thought & then quote scripture, do I just speak scripture as Jesus did in the wilderness? How do I in a practical way take captive the thought? Because it’s a wrong thought, I often feel anxious, maybe fearful that it’s going to land. As I type, I wonder if the answer is about being bolder in my right standing before God & standing & speaking the Word with more conviction. Sometimes we are weary but we have to press on. I hope the above is understandable. Thank you for your help & experience. Help us Lord Jesus to submit to Your Lordship afresh. Amen.

July 20, 2023 at 10:45 amI can be worshipping and bad thoughts will come to mind. Exactly what you said rebuke them with scripture and rest in the assurance of God’s love for you. Just know this will happen ALWAYS but you have all the tools through God’s Word to make it flee till the next time. We live in a fallen world and we’re sinners but Jesus died for that and has given us the Helper to cry out to and ask for help in time of need. Psalms 34:15 (NKJV) The eyes of the LORD [are] on the righteous, And His ears [are open] to their cry. Psalms 34:17-19 (NKJV) 17 [The righteous] cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD [is] near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. 19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalms 34:22 (NKJV) The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. God will deliver you out of them all!!!

July 20, 2023 at 12:25 pmThankyou – of course that simple – I am the righteousness of God – Psalm 34 – all these promises belong to the righteous – through the blood of Jesus – which speaks a better word – I say as the redeemed of the LORD – It is written, I am the righteousness of God.

July 20, 2023 at 2:20 pmPractical Help:
Our divergence is the process of moving from a state of disequilibrium to a state of equilibrium. This can be a difficult process, and it often requires us to rely on God’s provision:
When we’re feeling stressed or anxious, we can ask God for His peace.
When we’re feeling lonely or isolated, we can ask God for His joy.
When we’re feeling lost or confused, we can ask God for His guidance.
When we’re tempted to sin, we can ask God for His strength.
When we’re feeling discouraged, we can ask God for His hope.
When we’re feeling overwhelmed, we can ask God for His comfort.“But if you will seek God earnestly and plead with the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state.” Job 8:5-6
Heavenly Father,
As we come before You today, we are reminded of the powerful words from the book of Job: “But if you will seek God earnestly and plead with the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state.” (Job 8:5-6)
Lord, we are seeking You with all our hearts, earnestly desiring Your presence and guidance in our lives. We come before Your throne of grace, knowing that You are the Almighty, the source of all strength and wisdom. We acknowledge that Your ways are higher than ours, and we trust in Your perfect plan for our lives.
Father, we strive to live in purity and uprightness, but we also acknowledge our weaknesses and failures. We confess any sins or shortcomings before You, asking for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithful forgiveness, for wiping away our transgressions and giving us a fresh start.
With humble hearts, we pray for Your intervention in our lives. We face challenges and trials, and at times, it feels like prosperity is far from us. Yet, we hold on to the promise of Your Word – that even now, You will rouse Yourself on our behalf. You are the God who restores and redeems, and we believe in Your power to bring us back to a state of abundance and prosperity.
Lord, we surrender our circumstances and struggles to You. We trust that You are working behind the scenes, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen our faith and help us to stand firm, even in the face of adversity. Grant us the courage to persevere, knowing that Your timing is perfect and Your plans are for our good.
As we seek You, Lord, we ask for the wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to follow it. May Your Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Guide us in making the right decisions, and may our actions align with Your perfect purposes for our lives.
In moments of doubt and uncertainty, remind us of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Fill our hearts with hope and assurance that You are with us every step of the way. Help us to cast aside all fear and anxiety, knowing that You hold our future in Your hands.
We thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your promises that never fail. We believe that as we seek You earnestly, with hearts pure and upright, You will indeed restore us to a prosperous state. We trust in Your loving-kindness and abundant grace. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.livingwatersarefreePrayers: 562Requests: 206

July 20, 2023 at 5:24 pmIt gladdens my heart to hear of your deep desire for a transformed thought/prayer life! We can put a huge amount of effort into trying to change, but the commandment to “be transformed” is in the passive voice–the transformation is not based upon our efforts but upon God’s great mercy. Our job is to keep our eyes focused on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.
I tend to take a rather unconventional approach toddling with unwanted thoughts that creep in as I am trying to focus on God: I acknowledge them and pray about them. Sometimes, if it is a thought about something I must remember to do, I will take the time to write it down–if I don’t, that unwanted thought that is not about God will plague the remainder of the time I have set aside for prayer and enjoying His presence.I am also setting an alarm to go off 3-4 times per day to remind me to take a deep breath and allow myself to become aware of His presence.
As for meditating on Scripture, I find it particularly helpful to memorize Scripture with a partner. Rote memorization is not particularly helpful for me, but if I am memorizing with a partner, we tend to discuss the meaning of the Scripture we are memorizing and how it applies both to our understanding of who God is, and to our understanding of who God calls us to be in relation to Him.
So let me pray for you right now: Almighty Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we give You thanks that You are working in our hearts and minds, even when the evidence of this seems muted to us. Thank you that Your Living Water flows freely, nourishing our souls and also nourishing those around us. We ask that you will unleash Your Holy Spirit in the heart of this dear child of Yours to gather in all thoughts and draw this child ever nearer to You. In the name of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus we pray, Amen

July 21, 2023 at 9:52 amFather, thank You that we have been given the mind of CHRIST, which helps us to sort out what’s true and what’s false. Thank You for the Holy Spirit 🕊 Who is actively leading us into all truth all the time without fail. It’s by the leading of Your Spirit 🕊 that we can clearly recognize a thought that doesn’t aline itself with Your WORD — which is the ultimate truth. It’s the Holy Spirit 🕊 Who helps to assist us in being able to discern correctly what is a lie, and whether it is from our own thought process, or from another source that includes from the devil. Some famous preacher once said, that we can’t stop random thoughts from coming into our minds, they are like birds, that may land on our heads, but we don’t have to let them build a nest. The truth is, dealing with these thoughts is just part of the human condition. Thank God for the Holy Spirit 🕊 Who acts like a filter Who enables us to strain away the thoughts that do us no good, and helps us to retain the thoughts that are good for our spiritual benefit and well-being. LORD help us to listen more closely to the voice of Your Spirit. 🕊 He’s speaking all the time, and He is helping us to sort out the wheat from the tares in our thinking. Thank You Abba, that we have the mind of CHRIST…
In JESUS’ holy Name. Amen! 💓

July 21, 2023 at 7:34 pmDear livingwatersarefree; I have been thinking about your post and also trying to examine myself deeply as to how to respond honestly. Everything you mentioned happens to me as well. I am able to overcome by placing scriptures all over my prayer wall; in my room; my bath room; my closet and I have praise worship on play almost 24/7. The only time I turn my worship Song low is when I’m ready to sleep; and even then, I still allow songs on meditation to play softly. The human mind is such a fragile and delicate place. No matter how mature you are in spiritual matters; these thoughts will come and we have to constantly guard what we feed our eyes; ears and soul with. Knowing the word and spending quality time in reading Gods word will help tremendously. You also need to filter what you feed your spirit with. That is why I do not watch news; I don’t have any favorite cable channel. I simply do not want my soul to be polluted with any type of unhealthy matters. I live for and love the lord and that is what drives my movement. I pray that you can give a bit of consideration to this little encouragement and see if that helps. I also pray that you get involved in a good Bible teaching church or group to help you. Choose who to associate with. If you have kids or grandkids; you can also find joy in sharing your experience about life with them. May God help us all in our walk with him. Time is ticking away and I believe Our Lords return is drawing near. Have a great weekend be blessed and Shalom🙌🙏

July 21, 2023 at 8:53 pmOh, my dear sister in Christ, I can feel your pain and anguish. Just like GodsChosenOne said that it happens to her, it happens to me, too, and to all of us who love the Lord. We all have learned and believe that Jesus never sins; He is perfect in every way. You mentioned the wilderness story when the evil one confronted Jesus to sin. Since Jesus never sinned, the temptations (or thoughts) that the evil one tried to make Him sin, were rebuked by Jesus with scripture. So I truly believe the thoughts that are being slung at you are not a sin as long as you don’t let them land or believe them to be true. And it sounds like that is very true in your case. Wear the slinging arrows of the enemy with pride for if you weren’t living for the Lord, you would be left alone. The evil one is angry at you for loving our Lord. Don’t let his guilt consume you, then his darts and arrows win. But when the thoughts come, just cooly and calmly rebuke them like Jesus did. Then you will be victorious in Jesus’ eyes! Praying for His wisdom, strength and peace to overflow in your heart, mind and soul! 🙏🙏🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️✨✨✨♥️♥️♥️

July 21, 2023 at 9:58 pmI love reading my dab family’s tools in fighting this common thread in our lives of being the target of an accusing voice. In my own life, I have grown to love Revelation 12:10-12a which states: “10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. 12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them!” So, basically, we can expect to be accused day and night and we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. So simple. So comforting to know we are not alone. Thank You, Heavenly Father, that we are Your children, and that though we are accused “day and night”, we overcome by Your Son’s Precious Blood! Thank You and may all Praise and Glory be given to Your Holy Name! I pray this in the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

July 22, 2023 at 9:31 amagree with the gal who shared that the thoughts that are placed in front of us (in our minds) don’t indicate a sin on our part. It’s only when we dwell on them and “take the bait” that we sin. My pastor told me that Satan cannot read our minds, like God can. But when we speak our fears out loud, or speak against others, we reveal our insecurities and lack of faith. For me, these are strongholds of thinking that become harder and harder to overcome -and Satan continues to place tempting thoughts before me that align with them. The more I accept them the harder it is to overcome them… kind of like a well-worn rut in a road or path. It’s just so easy to fall into it and become stuck. Scripture is most powerful here but sometimes they do not come into my mind or I don’t have my Bible handy. I sing the Doxology outline. I focus my mind on the words that proclaim God’s power and authority and worthiness of our praise. Guess what happens then? Satan flees. My mind is protected in that instant. Maybe you can try this.

July 22, 2023 at 6:40 pmAmen to all the wisdom shared. Thank you livingwatersarefree for your transparency. I amen what you and others have shared and add for practical help us have an accountability partner you trust and look up to in the Lord. Tell them the thoughts that have entered your mind. Bringing light is a great way to expose the thoughts and help break any anxiety or fear of acting on the thought. John 1 “and the light came into the world and the darkness could not overcome it.” Confess it to another… it doesn’t have to be something you acted upon. You can just share “man, I have been having these funny thoughts pop into my head. I’ll be sitting there and start thinking about…” and then let the trusted friend in the Lord you look up to share their godly wisdom. And pray together. Exposing the thought, bringing it into the light is very powerful. I hope this helps. Bless you

July 22, 2023 at 9:26 pmThanks for setting me straight that you are my brother, not my sister! You are truly a child of God since you are so concerned about not letting anything come between you and your relationship with Him. And that is exactly why the arrows are being thrown at you. If you were already sinning, the evil one would just sit back and enjoy. But since you are trying to make your relationship with our Abba even more evident, you have made him angry and is going to tempt you until you get enough strength to make him flee. So that is my prayer for you tonight – for God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth, the One who calls you by name, to strengthen you enough to make the evil one flee for good! In Jesus’ mighty and awesome name, amen!🙏🙏🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️✨✨✨♥️♥️♥️
