March 2, 2017 at 8:02 pmHello Daily Audio Bible Listeners and Readers,
Thank you Brian, Daily Audio Bible Staff for making the Prayer Wall available for listeners to share there comments, questions, concerns, suggestions and prayers with others. We are so blessed. Yes we are!
My husband, John and I like to travel. We normally vacation at least twice a year. However, two month after moving from the Midwest to beautiful Camano Island, Washington, in 2015, I had my left l knee replaced. In December 2015, I had my right knee replaced. (Yes, I am doing fine now. Praise God!) Consequently, in 2015-2016, John and I did not travel anywhere because I was recuperating.
The day after Christmas, last year (2016), my husband suggested that I needed a vacation. I appreciated his thoughtfulness. He told me that he was looking at a Mexican Riviera Cruise he wanted to take me on. I agreed and off we went . We left on February 11th and returned on February 18th.
To make a long story short, it was one of the worst vacations we have ever been on. From the miscommunication of the cruise line prior to sailing giving us erroneous information which we discovered after boarding the ship, to the accommodations, to the dining…just mediocre. My husband enjoyed each other, but if it wasn’t for the excursions, we would have been bored stiff. Horrible! Absolutely horrible!
Since we’ve been back, John and I talked, in length, about the experience. We have been praying to the Lord. We have been asking, “What was/is it we are suppose to learn and what did we learn by going on this cruise?”
One of the conclusions and confirmations we have drawn from going on this cruise is how truly blessed we are to live on a magnificent island. We have wonderful neighbors, lots of community activities to participate in and a stunning totally amazing 180 degree panoramic view the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains everyday of the year.
We are thinking that perhaps God wants us to rethink our traditional view of vacationing and choose different or new way. This is truly a challenge. Not because we are stuck in a rut; quite contrary. It is challenging to match the convenience of going on a cruise and having everything ( lodging, food, entertainment )available in one location versus making several telephone calls to various vendors to ultimately accomplish the same result.
We truly want God’s will to be done in every area of our lives. That includes vacationing. This dilemma reminds me of Romans 12:2, transforming our minds to prove what the acceptable perfect will of God is for us is in this area.
John and I need your help. We understand that we could spend some time with a travel agent; however, we would rather obtain suggestions from Daily Audio Bible listeners and Christ followers who actually live in Pacific coastal, beachfront or waterfront communities. We would certainly appreciate you giving us some feedback and suggestions as to where we might vacation moving forward. John and I would like to go away in June for a few days then again for a week or two in November and December of this year and January /February/March of 2018.
To assist those who would like to help, my husband and I enjoy nature, very comfortable accommodations and fine dining. However, I do not enjoy hiking, camping or back packing. I am from Cleveland; give me a four or five star hotel. My husband is from Vermont and enjoys the outdoors… deer, streams and lots and lots and lots, and did I say, lots of trees. Ha ha! My husband doesn’t mind driving long hours (2+). I am not interested in driving any place that takes more than two hours to get to. In fact if there was a way to teleport me , that’s the route that I would take. Ha ha ha! My husband and I definitely do not like touristy locals but would be very interested in going to countries in which we are with a tour group with a reputable English speaking tour guide.
Thank you Brian and staff once again. And also, thank you Daily Audio Bible listeners, in advance, for your assistance, love and prayers.
Love you all,
Kathy

March 3, 2017 at 5:37 pmDear Matthew,
Thank you once again brother for your prayers.
Yes, my husband and I do praise the Lord all the time. It’s IMPOSSIBLE not to! Ha ha ha ha! 🙂 He is sooooooooooooooooo good to us. He loved us so much that His son, Jesus, gave up his life for us. Amen! Praise Him!
My husband and I are sooooooooooooooooo blessed. We really do not have too much to complain about…In fact we do not make it a practice to complain, being very cautious of the Bible teaching not to let a cursing and a blessing come out of the same mouth. We genuinely believe and love to thank Him and praise Him for what He has done and what He is doing in our lives and the lives of others. Amen.
May God continue to bless you coming in and going out.
