Description
Traditionally ascribed to King Solomon, The book of Wisdom or The Wisdom of Solomon takes a kingly look at Wisdom from one observing wisdom and one practically applying it. The book of Wisdom is a part of the Greek Septuagint but was not in the original Hebrew Bible. Most modern scholarship does not believe the book was actually authored by Solomon but was rather penned in his honor. Early 2nd century Christians were very aware of the book and knew it as a book authored in Solomon’s honor by his friends.
The Apocryphal books are considered to be Scripture in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Christian traditions while being considered very important books of the church that should be read for deeper understanding for most Protestant traditions.
