January 4, 2023 at 1:44 pmI worried and tried to handle everything for years. You are gonna have to literally do the hardest thin ever. Give up control and let GOD handle it. I screwed up my life for years #oing what I thought was right and not trusting GOD to handle it. And I still have problems with giving up control. But I have to be reminded to let him handle it. Find something you like doing. That takes your mind away from worry books, puzzles, games, whatever takes your focus from troubles. Then when changes happen you know it’s GOD. It’s hard but please try. Praying for you.

January 4, 2023 at 2:58 pmIt’s never too late for a miracle. I pray for you as I pray for me, Justin. You know, you’re right about people sometimes: the cruelty is there. You’re right that minding your own business sometimes and you’re targeted. Please know, Justin, nothing lasts forever. I thank God if I can see 5 seconds of peace and give Him praise. On many days just getting up is a victory so count it all joy and keep on. I do believe from hearing Brian that it’s a trick to make you give up when your blessings are the closest. Many of us feel the same weariness: you’re not alone. None of us are. Keep reaching out for help. Amen

January 4, 2023 at 4:21 pmHi Justin, I’ve been there back in 2012 & I stumbled again this time last year, hard. I was recovering having come out of lockdown, a couple of friendships didn’t work out & I was the walking wounded & experiencing heavy opposition in the spirit. I was working but not sleeping well & then at my weakest, most vulnerable point, I was let down by someone in Church authority. I momentarily gave up at Christmas 2021 because I couldn’t see beyond this emotional pain. Thankfully, looking back I can see that the Lord, in His emense Fatherly care, hadn’t given up on me. And He hasn’t given up on you either. The voices here on this prayer wall echo His heart & His love for you! I realised at the time I could still here the voice of God & to simplify my turn around, I had to change my focus & change what was coming out of my mouth. It was a decision I made & a process of walking it out. I had to realign with the word of God, commit to it, satuate myself in it & speak faith & life only. I found grace to forgive & then I returned to the same Church. Straight up, Christmas 2021, I was ready to sign myself into the local mental health ward, I was low, depressed, darkened in my thinking & ready to give up but then I read a devotional & I realised I had a choice to make & I realised I could choose LIFE. And life I chose. I’m still in the process of renewing my mind but the initial stronghold of the enemy is broken. The fear that was driving me & is exhausting to be influenced by, has been broken. My friend there is nothing that the resurrected Christ can not redeem when we choose Him first & daily surrender, let go & let God. There is wonder working power in the blood, there is power in the Name of Jesus, there is life, peace & contentment to be found in the presence of Christ. If I may be bold & say, (having battled suicidal thoughts originally from the age of 15 until I met Jesus at 19) that suicide has to be the cruelest deception that satan has ever devised! May the fear of the LORD keep us alive & may we honour Jesus sacrifice that has purchased our eternal life! Justin, there is life for you, there is hope & there is a future for you. You have immense value because you have been created by God & made in His image. Christ LOVES you & died for you! God bless.

January 4, 2023 at 4:35 pmProverbs 14:27. The fear of the Lord – a healthy respect for God. My understanding says; He is mighty & I am but a man. How mighty is He, holy, awesome, & how willing He is to save. And save He will. JESUS is His Name. The Prince of Peace – I surrender afresh to You.

January 4, 2023 at 5:17 pmPraying you receive this Justin,
WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE FEEL ABANDONED BY GOD?
What do we do when the darkness wont lift? And what do we do when the darkness of depression and despair has surrounded us and there sees to be no light anywhere?
And the worst part of it is that it feels like God isn’t there either? That He’s nowhere to be found. Through tears we cry out on our knees, “LORD, please don’t abandon me! I need You desperately right now. Please, hear my cry, please draw near to me. I know I’m not worthy, but Oh, how I need You! I’m desperate for You, LORD….You are all I’ve got! You are my only hope.”
King David experienced this kind of pain in the darkness he wrote about it in Psalm 13.
One of the reasons Christians throughout the centuries have connected so deeply with the Psalms is because of the brutal honesty that we see in Psalm 13.
Writing about this brutal honestly, D. A. Carson says, “I find hope in the fact there is no attempt in Scripture to whitewash’s the anguish of God’s people when they undergo suffering. They argue with God, they complain to God, they weep before God, theirs is not a faith that leads to blind-eyed stoicism, but a faith so robust it wrestles with God.”
In Psalm 13, we are given a picture, a model if you will, of “how to wrestle with God” when we find ourselves in the pit of darkness and despair.
Psalm 13 reads:
“How long, O LORD, Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hade Your face from me? 2. How
long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow
in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy
be exalted over me? 3. Consider and answer me, O
LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep
of death, 4. lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over
him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. 5. But
I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall
rejoice in Your salvation. 6. I will sing to the LORD,
because He has dealt bountifully with me.”Here is Psalm 13, David is on the verge of despair.– He is feeling hopeless as he looks to the future.– He feels he cannot cope any longer.– He is at the end of himself.
Four times, with four different questions, he cry’s out to God, “How long?”
I’ve heard it said, “It’s not under the sharpest, but the longest trials, that we are most in danger of depression and despair.”
That is what we see here with David.
David is in agony and can’t feel the presence of God. He shares how it feels like God has ignored his pain and his sorrow. Have you been there? We should take comfort knowing that just like David, God wants to hear our genuine, feelings when we are hurting, even if they are frustration and anger. Of course, while it may feel like God has forgotten us in these times, can God actually forget us? Dose He forget our deepest pain?
We may “feel” that we have been forgotten by God. And to make matters worse, our enemy, Satan, wants nothing more than to reinforce this “feeling” by lying to us. To convince us that indeed God has forgotten us. That He is long gone. That He doesn’t care. But the truth is this: God cannot and will not forget us.
He tells us so.
Listen to what God says in (Isaiah 49:15-16), “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands…”
Christian, don’t believe the lie that God has forgotten you.
Not for a second.
Don’t trust the “feeling” that says He doesn’t care and that He will abandon you. Your “feelings” come and go. They are like grass, which flourishes or dies depending on the season. But do you what doesn’t come and go?
THE WORD OF GOD.
The Word never changes.– It is always trustworthy.– It is forever true.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8) What God tells us in His Word, we can trust completely. — We can bank on it.
Forever…
And so we can trust Him when He tells us in (Isaiah 49;15-16), “I WILL NOT forget you… I have engraved you on the palms of My hands!” What a wonderful and glorious truth! What love! What mercy! What compassion! This is truth we must preach to ourselves and to one another when the darkness will not lift.
Even in his great despair, David knew the truth of (Isaiah 49:15-16). He knew deep down that God would never forget him or abandon him. He knew the LORD loved him with an everlasting love.
This is why he closes Psalm 13 with verse 5-6…
5. “But I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 6. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
In these two verses, David shows us what to do when we “feel” abandoned by God. He shares #3 things:
#1, TRUST IN God’s steadfast love for us. (v. 5a). \\David begins by saying in verse 5, “But I have trusted in Your steadfast love…”
What we must do? TRUST. We TRUST God.– We TRUST His promises.– We TRUST His character.– We TRUST His faithfulness.– We TRUST His WORD.
We trust He is God who is “the same yesterday, today, and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8) We TRUSDT His love, which He displayed most clearly through CHRIST’S death on the cross to save sinners like you and me.
Even when we don’t see and don’t “feel” we TRUST.
I love the words of James Montgomery Boice when he writes, “The fact that we “feel” abandoned itself means that we really know God is there. To be abandoned you need somebody to be abandoned by. Because we are Christians and have been taught by God in the Scriptures, we know that God still love us, regardless of our “feelings.”
Again, our “feelings” change. God and His Word are unchanging.
TRUST Him.
#2. Put our HOPE in God as we look to our future (v.5b)
David goes on in verse 5, “But I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”
Real HOPE — HOPE that sees the future — will give you joy in the present. Even in the worst of circumstances. That is what we see here in verse 5. David’s HOPE is ultimately found not in his present situation, but in his eternal salvation!
Friends, for those who are in CHRIST JESUS, no matter how difficult our circumstances are in this life, no one can steal the joy of our eternal salvation in JESUS! This HOPE is sure.
Hear these promises from God’s Word:
(1 Peter 1:3-6) — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord JESUS CHRIST! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials.
(Philippians 3:20-21) — Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body, by the power that enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.
(2 Corinthians 4:17-18) — For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison , as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
While our circumstances may not change, we can know the deep, supernatural joy that comes when we put out HOPE in the God who hold our future in His hands.
#3. WORSHIP God for His glory and goodness (v. 6)
David concludes Psalm 13 with these words in verse 6. “I will sing to the LORD. because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
David ends the Psalm with singing!
Singing!
Songs of praise, WORSHIPING the God of his salvation who is better than life itself!
Even in the darkness David sings.
Charles Spurgeon, the great 19th century Baptist preacher once said: “There is not half enough singing in the world… I remember a servant who used to sing while she was at the wash-tub. Her mistress said to her, “why, Jane, how is it that you are always singing? She said, “It keeps the bad thoughts away.”
You see, singing to the LORD, praising the LORD, WORSHIPING the LORD is how we FIGHT! spiritual battles. It is how we FIGHT! the battle for our minds and for our hearts in the dark valleys of our life.
Like David in (Psalm 13), we look to Him! We cry out to Him! We praise His name! We SING to Him!
Even in the face of despair.
Even when the darkness wont lift.
Even when we “feel” abandoned by God.
Even when ———————–.
Let us put our hope in Him as we look to the future!
Let us WORSHIP Him for His glory and goodness!
Brothers and sisters, I think it’s time to sing.

January 5, 2023 at 11:23 amHi Justin, many words have been said and testimonies given to encourage you. 🙏🏼 i’m also praying for you along side the other DABbers. When we have a physical illness, that needs to be addressed as well. If you had all these same feelings along with some heart issues, we would share words of encouragement, our testimonies, prayers like we have, but we would also lovingly guide you to get help from a Dr. for the physical symptoms of your heart that you’re experiencing. If it’s not your heart, it could be a different organ or part of your body, like the brain. It too has symptoms (warning signs) that occur when there’s a physical problem going on inside. However, most people don’t recognize the warnings. I think you do. These signs, if not addressed medically, are life crippling and deadly. They require immediate medical attention just like heart warnings and rarely go away on their own. But for some reason, our culture typically instructs the person with brain symptoms to just “think” differently, try harder, pray more, etc . . . . . without suggesting to seek medical help for a medical problem. We would Never do that to a person experiencing heart warnings (or another area, kidney, lungs, etc . . . .). It’s the same with the brain when their is illness or malfunction inside. It needs medical help. You can’t wish away your heart symptoms because they are a physical reaction to an internal problem that needs attention. ❤️🩹 Once a cardiologist treats the heart problem (medicine, surgery, or other) the heart can begin to function properly (normal, healthy) again and the patient will feel so much better. Once the brain problem is treated by a Dr. the brain can begin to function properly (normal, healthy) again and the patient will feel so much better. Not cured, but treated and managed. Much like the heart patient who get’s treatment and feels a new lease on life, the brain patient feels the same. It’s life changing with the help of modern medical access. So – – – – this is something to think about and possibly a new way to think about it. There is NO, absolutely NO condemnation in my shared words to you. My prayers for you will be for the Holy Spirit to speak to you and instruct you in the way you should go and with Jesus right along side you! May God Almighty bless you Justin and keep you safe in His arms and make His face to shine upon your face. May the Lord give you His peace. 🙏🏼 All in the Holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen. ✝️ With love and support from a fellow DABber – 💝 GodsgalMN

January 5, 2023 at 12:37 pmDear Heavenly Father, Please be with our brother in Christ as he faces depression, anxiety, and sadness. Lord, meet him in his hurting. Please remind him each morning of his newness in You, and reinvigorate him each day with passion for your great purpose in our lives – loving others. Please meet him in the hurt that he has experienced within the church and from other Christians. Through your Word, make your will in his life abundantly clear. Open his heart and mind to You. Bless him in his job. God, place other Christians in his life. Please place a desire in him to have a church community. Please bring attention to sin in his life that keeps him from feeling you. Please make your face shine upon him. Grant him peace – your divine peace -in his current situation. Help him to see the value of his life when it’s lived in your divine will. In your precious and holy name, I pray, Amen. I will continue to pray for you in the coming days. I am so sorry that you are going through this. In times like these, I remember that God did not say that life would be easy, but that through him we can do it. I am reminded of Lamentations 3. Jeremiah Laments to the Lord for all of the horrible things that are happening, saying “He has made me dwell in darkness like those who have been dead for ages” (v.6). However, Jeremiah changes in verse 21 – 24, saying, “Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new each morning; great is your faithfulness!” And continue reading. I strongly encourage you to read Lamentations. The Lord provides us with a beautiful illustration of his willingness and desire to hear from us in our wondering and anger and sadness. Lament to God. Yell to God. Cry to God. God loves us all the time, not just in the joy. Lamentations is a great example of how to talk to God about your anger and sadness and a wonderful illustration of God’s faithfulness in the things that we don’t understand.

January 5, 2023 at 8:22 pmJames 4:5-10 is amazing and freeing… it hurts so good… with a promise… “Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the Spirit that He has made to dwell in us”? But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” Justin, your season in the wilderness isn’t forever. You are being made strong as you learn the process of quieting your soul and waiting on God. Allow His Holy Spirit to rise up within you. Christ in you is the hope of glory. He is doing a good work in you. Let Him. Let God. Put a bridle on your mouth, His bridle. He speaks life over you. Don’t undo His construct. Speak His Word, not the soul’s, the flesh’s or the devils’. Repent. Let Him clear away the wood, hay and stubble. It is being burned away. He is a refiner and is bringing forth pure gold… It happens in an exceedingly hot furnace. Trust Him. He knows what He is doing … He will provide You with the support you need and never gives us more than we can handle. It’s a promise. Follow His blueprint, forget about what lies behind… there are plenty of what ifs and what could of been. He is a God of the present with a promise for the future. He is giving you strength for today. You are valuable. Each one of us is special. We possess the very breath of life from God, on loan from heaven, itself. We are created in His image and as His people, He has magnificently granted His covering and atonement for sin. God sees Jesus in you when you cling to His cross in submission to His will and grace. You become His prized thoroughbred racehorse in training who has blinders on and trusts it’s rider. Let Jesus be in your saddle. Try not to rub Him off against the nearest fence or tree. The enemy loves that. Let God be God, ok? What does His Word say? Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” If you feel driven…and unrested, perhaps, someone else is in the saddle? Know who’s yoke and bridle you are wearing… praying for you. Finish plowing the field or running the track your on and graduate to the next step of the training. God has His plan. He is a Psalm 23 kind of God. A good shepherd doesn’t drive His sheep off a cliff, ok? You’ll know what the will of the LORD is. He says, “My sheep hear My voice.” If Abraham, Moses, Rahab, David, Peter and JohnMark can make it for example despite their shortcomings, why not you and me? They eventually listened. It’s a new year and a new beginning. Time to clean the wax out of our ears and be listening. He is a patient, amazingly gracious and a powerful God. Hope in Him. You will not be disappointed.
